Our Commitment
Bēkon has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form.
We are committed to preventing, detecting, and responding to any such content or behavior on our platform. The safety of minors is a foundational priority that guides our policies, product design, and enforcement practices.
Age Requirement
Bēkon is an adults-only platform. All users must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. We enforce this requirement through the following measures:
- Accounts that are found to belong to individuals under 18 are immediately suspended and removed.
Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Bēkon and will result in immediate account termination and a report to the appropriate authorities:
- Sharing, distributing, or soliciting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
- Grooming, soliciting, or exploiting minors in any way.
- Any communication that sexualizes minors.
- Attempting to use the platform to contact or meet minors for any exploitative purpose.
- Any other conduct that endangers the safety or well-being of children.
How to Report Child Safety Concerns
If you become aware of any content or behavior on Bēkon that involves the exploitation or abuse of a child, please report it immediately using any of the following methods:
- In-app reporting: Use the report feature within the Bēkon app to flag a user or content.
- Email: Contact us at contact@bekon.app with the subject line "Child Safety Report."
- NCMEC CyberTipline: Report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline or contact local law enforcement.
All child safety reports are treated as urgent and are reviewed as quickly as possible.
Detection, Enforcement, and Response
Bēkon takes the following steps to detect and respond to CSAE on our platform:
- Account review: Accounts reported for child safety violations are reviewed promptly. Offending accounts are immediately suspended pending investigation.
- Permanent removal: Users found to have violated these standards are permanently banned from the platform with no opportunity to create a new account.
- Evidence preservation: When a child safety violation is identified, we preserve relevant account data and content as required by law to support investigations.
- Law enforcement cooperation: We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies investigating CSAE.
Legal Compliance and Reporting Obligations
Bēkon complies with all applicable child safety laws, including but not limited to:
- United States federal law requiring electronic service providers to report apparent violations involving CSAM to the NCMEC CyberTipline (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
- Applicable state and local laws regarding the reporting of child abuse and exploitation.
- International laws and regulations regarding CSAE in jurisdictions where we operate.
We report to regional and national authorities as required by law and will continue to update our practices as legal requirements evolve.
Updates to These Standards
We may update these child safety standards from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these standards were most recently revised.
